This is my little town. It’s one of the most concentrated parts of the American melting pot. We can spin the globe, point a finger at a country, and Google a restaurant with that country’s food. What a great place to be!

I probably could have made an Ellis Island and a Governors Island ring to accompany this one. A ferry ring would tie them together nicely. I could also make a Verrazano Narrows Bridge ring to link this ring with another borough ring that I’m planning to make soon.

Like the 100th Ring, I made a special ring for the 200th. Since there isn’t a $200 bill, passing GO seemed to be in keeping with the theme.

Today begins the US Open in Queens. Samantha Stosur got off to a good start with her first win. If you’re out there for the games, I highly recommend heading over to Nixtamal for lunch. They make fresh tortillas from seed corn daily. The tamales are great too.
