I fully intended to float the Queen near the top of this ring to emphasize the magnification properties of the doming resin, but the Queen sank like a stone to the bottom of the bezel. Next time I’ll give the Queen a life jacket.

Many memento mori rings were hidden inside the band, under a hatch, or deep within a bezel, such as this tiny magnified skull. The skull is only about 2mm wide, but with a nice resin dome it appears too big to fit in the bezel, which effectively becomes a peep hole.

Today’s ring is the 100th ring in the series! I wanted a wax seal kind of ring. What I ended up with was a rubber stamp signet ring, since we don’t often have a sealing wax candle handy in these modern times. I cut a perfect rubber stamp on the first try — except that it was backwards. FYI all you G-men from the Treasury Department: the cut is 125% larger so I don’t get in trouble with you, and the original scan came from the interwebs.

The seashell is encased in doming resin to give it a wet look like it was just found at the ocean’s edge. Copper bezel with ripples on a brass shank.
