Ring-A-Day: Orange Creamsicle Ring
You know the one: orange on the outside and white on the inside. Could have enjoyed an orange creamsicle in the heat today. Melting pewter at 600°F is hot stuff. Melting bronze at 2050°F is hotter. The safety gear — all leathers — like a down sleeping bag in July.

Ring-A-Day: Creamsicle Ring
Vulcanized another popsicle stick today after stamping it with my letter stamps. The type and the stick shrank, effectively giving me another font to work with!

Ring-A-Day: Popsicle Stick Ring
I vulcanized a popsicle stick in organic rubber, then cast pewter in the cavity. The stick came out of the mold thinner, like a coffee stir. The wood grain was more dramatic. I’m definitely going to experiment further since I have many popsicle sticks left.
Vulcanization involves 350°F and about 50 tons of hydraulic pressure. It stinks like a tire store, too.
