Tried a new brass alloy from the caster called Thai Gold. It comes out pretty nice. It’s hard, too, so it holds a shine. The caster claims that it doesn’t tarnish as fast as regular brass. That’s what Butcher’s Wax is for.

Tried a European style shank in silver. The idea being that the bottom corners prevent the shank from spinning. My wedding ring is similarly shaped, and it’s upside down or sideways all the time. Whether or not it actually solves the problem, I like the style.
The simplicity of this ring is demanding. There’s no hiding mistakes in shape or polish. I love this kind of challenge.

This was molded from a St. George starfish and cast in brass by the lost wax process. It’s called a knobby starfish. The big ones look like someone sculpted them with white chocolate chips.
