Damn, another misfire evil eye. Evil wins again. I tried to make it lighter and thinner. I’ll have to figure out what’s wrong with the kiln.

It was supposed to be an evil eye ring to ward off evil, but it crumbled and blistered. Evil reins!

Started by setting five 1.5mm CZs, but the metal below the center CZ was still powder (it didn’t sinter properly). Luckily, drilling out to 3mm for a bigger stone seemed to fix the problem. I’m starting to have fun making gypsy set stones. Haven’t broken one yet (hurray!). Just ordered two kinds of silver clay. Stay tuned.

The three holes were intended for 3mm CZs but something odd happened. As I was cutting the seats for the gems, the bur spat powder instead of its usual shiny chips of metal. The inner portion of this ring didn’t sinter even though it is hard and strong on the outside. Gives me some ideas about forming some hollow pieces.

Tiny CZs are fun to set. These are 1.5mm, just enough to give a little glint in sunlight.
