Tried a new brass solder and flux. The flux sux. So does the brass solder. I’m going back to silver-based solder and my old trusty Handy-Flux.

Ring-A-Day: Accordion Ring
Wifie’s favorite instruments are Theremin and Accordion. To her delight, she was listening to a Pandora station and couldn’t figure what the thread was until she read under Why this song?: “Strange Accordion Music.”
If you have Pandora, make a Pink Martini station and you will get everything under the sun because Pink Martini has a huge range of sounds, instruments, and styles.

Wally to Wali belt buckle transformation
I have a friend who has one of those names that will never be mass-produced on merchandise. His name is Wali. He used to wear one of the ’70s name buckles, but lost it when he moved from New York to London. My name was seldom on things at tourist traps and truck stops, so I understand how he feels. I found one of those name buckles on eBay and corrected the spelling with just a bit of metal smithing.

Today, I let the camera name the ring instead of going the Jackson Pollock route of Untitled. After hammering a copper core and peening the surface, I wrapped it with brass wire. The two metals have different amounts of give. the wire ended up very loopy. This ring might have otherwise been called wreath-ring.
